PULL ME OUT

Image
PULL ME OUT The darkness is deep here, Eerie noises deafening, Pungent smells choking, The whole place suffocating, But there's some light I'm seeing, To reach the source I'm trying, My whole body I'm stretching, But It's just out of reach, I'm finding. But If what I see is real and true, Then in there are some people. Are they in oblivion there, To my existence here, Or just don't wanna help out? But If they once were here too, Then they should want to, But Whatever the reason has been, I still dare to harbor hope, Not giving up yet, no! You can reconsider and respond to my muffled screams; Pull me out! Pull me out! . Mark.16.15 And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere. [NLT] . Stay Blessed!

DEVOUR

Image
"Mummy, I don't know when you will stop this act, we've said it over and over again, that a Sunday afternoon meal isn't one to waste time on, we need a quick one, moreso there's a program we need to attend in less than 2 hours....." Blah blah blah, on and on I went expressing my displeasure with my mom's doing. Well, don't blame me, at least not yet. Here's the situation; It's like a family commitment that we normally do not eat on Sunday mornings before church, I know most of y'all don't too.. So after the service, what's usually on my mind is the fastest meal that can be made, so we can all satisfy our bellies. But my mom chooses this particular day to cook time consuming delicacies all in the name of changing our taste, so it isn't much surprising to find Mummy trying to prepare a swallow to be eaten with the most complex soups there is- on a Sunday afternoon. Now the thing is, apart from the long process, we still have to b...

BACKSLIDDEN

Image
. It's really been long since I posted here, well I was writing a couple of exams so I had no time, but now I'm back to work here, thanks for bearing with me. It means a lot! BACKSLIDDEN It was a bright morning, A Thursday, so sunny, He woke with a yawn, Not like a newborn, Mid-sixties, stinking rich, His name, a palindrome, There's a lot of them wealthy Germans, But very few could next to him stand! And not many got to simply call,'Otto' . Leader of a conglomerate, Never slack at any rate, Never drank, didn't smoke once, Absolutely fastidious, Yet, as nice as his living standard was, His life was a mess, He no longer had joyous moments, His delights were gone, His problem wasn't at all a hex -at all, But even a baby will agree, A broken home's no sight to see, Divorced and left with a teen, A boy always wanting to leave, and with no bit of love for his dad, Otto never foresaw such, in his heyday, his view on marriage was; All wives should be Stepford, A...

GOD, ARE YOU EVEN CAPABLE?

Image
"GOD, SIT IN YOUR PLACE; YOU’RE NOT CAPABLE" In what ways do we say this to God? Read on!  ‘Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?’ 2 Kings 7:2a [KJV]  I don’t know how you’re feeling, reading this. But I know that you probably are thinking on this man’s level of unbelief-Let’s make it clearer with another version;  “The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, ‘That couldn’t happen even if the LORD opened the windows of heaven!’” 2 Kings 7:2a [NLT]  That’s like saying, “Elisha, even the ‘baba nla’ you believe in can’t do this! Even if the skies were to rain flour and grain from God, this is impossible!” What insolence!  I really feel bad for this man and the end he had, and you probably do too. But we cannot wave aside the fact that he didn’t only doubt and dare God, he belittled Him.  This man said rude words to God directly, but many of u...

THE TONGUE

Image
THE TONGUE That night, before John went to bed, he read from the Bible, Moses’ flaws due to his temper and he prayed for grace to hold himself back and not be easily angered. Seconds later, he was gone, soaked completely in the ocean of sleep. Of a sudden, John was no longer 8 years. He was now a man in his late 30’s, already successful in his way and married too. His wife, Rebecca, who he called Becky for short was a gentle woman, the type that doesn’t worry her husband. They really loved each other, naturally, just like milk and flour. All was going smoothly until that day… Before this fateful day, both of them had been expectantly waiting on the Creator for a child but Becky hadn’t taken in yet. On that day, John was visited at work by his uncles; the only two brothers his mom had. They brought news on how miserable their sister was and how it was his fault, how she was dying gradually and hadn’t seen her grandchildren and how that was Becky’s fault too. Well, if I, the narrator of ...

NO GOOD FROM EVIL

Image
Hey, guys. I'm posting a sort of freestyle poem I wrote some time ago(more of a message broken into short lines, hope you like it!).... And as usual, please react, comment and share! . NO GOOD FROM EVIL Your son was said to have been stealing, You disagreed, Yet you went into your brother's store, Just the week before, And took some of his food items... And with no iota of a stinging conscience, You boldly declare; 'My brother's property is mine'... So do you mean to assert, That your stealing son, Was blind to that act, And didn't learn from you? . Young woman, Your daughter went into prostitution... You don't believe it, But where exactly were you last night? Was it not in that strange man's room? Oh, come on, Mangoes aren't found on a guava tree, are they? . Any fault found with your offspring, You denounce vehemently; But was it not that same crime, That exact atrocity, Or a variant of it, You committed some time ago? . SIDE BOX This Valentine,...

ILLUSION

Image
ILLUSION He was on the bank, Just last night, On the verge of being carried away, His eyes focusing, On what he didn’t want to lose, Trying hard not to get distracted, By the turbid water, Yet then, he lifted his eyes, And saw it, looking so attractive, so enjoyable; He became engrossed, ‘It’d just take a little swim’, he thought, And tried moving towards it; But it was fruitless, Like navigating a labyrinth in the dark, Or a maze of identical doors, He really wanted this, Thought he needed it badly, At that point, What he didn’t want at first to lose, What he really was supposed to choose, Became valueless, useless to him, And he thought it was an upgrade, When it was in fact, only a worse update, Exchanging the invaluable for a valuable, He dropped it, And it made his journey easier, he naively thought; He was reaching out to his target, A few more scrambling, And some more clambering, He was finally there, The pearl was before him, With a radiance he’d never seen, The wide smi...

WHEN YOU HATE THE ONE GOD LOVES

Image
Happy new month guys and thanks for the support! When you hate the one God loves  I saw someone post; ‘If God loves the person you hate, you’re in trouble!’ The first thought that crossed my mind when I came across this, was that, God said in His word that He loves everyone, in essence; every human on earth. That declaration is scattered all over the scriptures, the most notable being John 3:16. God loves everybody, that therefore implies that if you hate anyone, you’re in trouble!  And come to think of it, Jesus told us to love both our enemies and our friends because even unbelievers love their friends and hate their foes and we must be distinct! {Matthew 5:43-47}  Another approach to the statement which I suppose is what the writer meant is that, If God is on your enemy’s side, you’re roasted meat, which is absolutely true, because you can’t oppose God’s beloved and expect to make a headway, it’s impossible my friend…  Hours after I saw all these, I remembered Mat...

FIRMLY ROOTED IN CHRIST

Image
Firmly Rooted in Christ So I saw this piece I wrote some years ago, added some modifications and here it is: Our world is full of so much crisis and trouble. Existence is a rare gift. Numerous people die daily in agonies of sin. And yet there's a way through; living in this world comes with challenges and problems, but this can be your life changing encounter(if you wish) Different wind of heresies and prophecies like the "once saved, forever saved" doctrine tend to drive men away from the true love of Christ. There is a huge lacuna between the Correct believer and the backslider.... A sin scrapes off all of a man's former righteousness. You cannot spare a murderer because he never showed violence before, the same way you cannot use a dirty dish because it was clean the day before. I don't know who this word is for, but living a carefree life because you had once surrendered your life to Christ is like refusing to take a bath because you were washed at birth, o...
